The pavements outside the church were three deep. All along the route thousands watched the progress of the flame.</p>
<p>Prior to the Flame passing, St. Aidan's hosted a cream tea with the proceeds going to the Childrens Hospice South West.</p>
<p>&pound;170 was raised, and with the proceeds of the Spring fayre raffle of &pound;180, plus the generous donations amounting to more than &pound;600&nbsp;made at our Community Fayre in March a total of &pound;950 has been sent to the hospice for their work.</p>
<p>Well done and thank you to all who came and all who helped at&nbsp;all the&nbsp;events.</p>

<p>The audience, including members of John's family and many friends and admirers were treated to a fine selection of Brass Band classics.</p>
<p>The retiring collection in aid of John's favourite charity, The Bristol Children Hospital, raised &pound;379.</p>

<p>This gave parents and many others&nbsp;an ideal opportunity to see and hear the children in a more intimate setting than the Colston Hall.</p>
<p>The church was packed to hear a variety of Christmas songs and Carols, both old favourites and new ones.</p>

St. Aidan with St. George have a really good relationship with the school and support it in as many ways as we can.
