James was born in Woking Surrey in 1886. He was resident at Upper Parkston Poole when he enlisted into the Gloucester’s at Dorchester. His mother was Mrs Rosina Harding of 6 Albert Street, Greenbank, Bristol.

 Henry died in the UK on the 13th April 1918

He is remembered with honour at Bristol (Greenbank) Cemetery. Special memorial BBC

Henrys nearest next of kin were entittled to receive on his behalf The British War Medal & The Victoty Medal. These were returned as unclaimed in accordance with Kings Regulation 1743.

KR 1743 -" Medals which, at the end of 10 years, still remain unclaimed, will be sent to the India Office (if granted for Indian service), or to the deputy director of ordnance stores, Royal Dockyard (Medal Branch), Woolwich (if granted for other service) to be broken up."
