Arthur was born in St George, Bristol on 16th April 1893.  He was the son of Arthur & Emma Harold.  A schoolboy in 1901 he was living with his family at 3 Summerhill Road St. George, Bristol.  At the time of the 1911 census his occupation was recorded as house painter and he was resident with his parents and siblings at 12 Beaconsfield Road, St. George, Bristol.

Arthur served “on” HMS Victory (Portsmouth shore base) attending the sick and wounded. On 8th November 1918 he died of disease.

He is buried and remembered with Honour at the Haslar Royal Navy Cemetery. Location of Grave -/37./10
