St. Aidan's Welcomes the Olympic Flame
Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 20:26 On Tuesday 22nd May, the Olympic Flame passed St. Aidan's church, watched by hundreds of people. The pavements outside the church were three deep. All along the route thousands watched the progress of the flame.
Prior to the Flame passing, St. Aidan's hosted a cream tea with the proceeds going to the Childrens Hospice South West.
£170 was raised, and with the proceeds of the Spring fayre raffle of £180, plus the generous donations amounting to more than £600 made at our Community Fayre in March a total of £950 has been sent to the hospice for their work.
Well done and thank you to all who came and all who helped at all the events.
